January 13, 2013 North 42 Degrees Estate Winery Gewürztraminer 2011 and Asian Chicken Vegetable Stir-Fry.

Cheers to good health in 2013!

January is filled with different New Year’s resolutions and surely a lighter eating plan is on many. North 42 Degrees Estate Winery’s Gewürztraminer suggested a spicy dish. We searched the internet and found an Asian chicken dish with vegetables from the recipes of Canadian Living magazine.

We dialed up the spice and this dish was a winner with this wine. This pair goes right to the recipe box!

Asian Chicken Vegetable Stir-Fry Recipe.

Type: White Wine
Measure: 750 ml
Vintage: 2011

Gewürztraminer is a lovely aromatic white which we fell in love with from France’s Alsace region. It is a full-bodied dry wine that is delicious, fruity with flavors of apricot, lychee and baking spices. Gewürztraminer pairs well with the classic cuisine of Alsace — a rich ham quiche, Gruyere or Muenster cheese, sauerkraut and sausages. It’s flowery bouquet pairs well with spicy curries, barbeque and hot sauces and of course Asian and Mexican cuisine.

Best served cool at 8°C or 50°F our Gewürztraminer can easily be sipped on the patio all on its own on those hot Ontario days.
